OECD

The OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) is an international policy forum of 38 democratic market economies founded in 1961. While Taiwan is not a member, virtually all of Taiwan's major trading partners are OECD members.

The OECD AI Principles (2019) were the world's first intergovernmental AI policy framework, adopted by 42 countries and directly influencing the EU AI Act. The OECD AI Policy Observatory tracks global AI regulatory developments.

OECD policy recommendations typically signal the future regulatory direction of major markets. Taiwan's export-oriented companies need to anticipate and prepare for OECD-driven policies in AI governance, tax (BEPS), and corporate responsibility.
